bip-scout ("the App") is a personal, non-commercial research tool operated by an individual developer. It uses the official Threads API provided by Meta to search public Threads posts by keyword.
1. What data the App accesses
Public Threads posts returned by the official keyword search endpoint (post text, username, permalink, timestamp).
Basic profile information of the authenticated account (the operator's own account) required by the Threads API (threads_basic).
2. How the data is used
Search results are reviewed by the operator to discover public accounts of fellow independent developers for genuine, manual engagement (following, replying).
Data is used only for this personal research purpose. It is never sold, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or used to build profiles of individuals.
3. Data storage and retention
The App does not operate a server or database. Search results are viewed transiently on the operator's local machine.
At most, short notes about public accounts (username, public product info) may be kept in the operator's private local notes, and are deleted when no longer relevant.
4. Data from other users
The App only accesses posts that are already public on Threads, through Meta's official API and within its rate limits and terms. The App does not collect private data, direct messages, or any non-public information.
5. Data deletion
To request deletion of any data related to you, contact the operator at the email below. Any stored notes referencing your account will be deleted promptly.
6. Changes
This policy may be updated as the App changes. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
